1. Classroom-Based Education Experience
Before starting the Digital Marketing Institute, the founders had been training and educating organizations and business people in all things digital. Furthermore, the founders were running a digital agency, advising clients on how to plan and implement successful digital marketing campaigns. We have therefore been running very focused, practical education programmes for over 10 years. We would like to think that our classroom-based training is an “experience”. This experience involves standard classroom type activities, which includes lecturing, interactive demonstrations, video, workshops, creativity and networking. We are now recognized as the leading provider of public training courses for the digital marketing sector in Europe.
2. Online-Based Education Experience
Why is it that “online learning” is so boring? The standard online learning delivery is “death by PowerPoint” – slide after slide with a boring voice-over. When we looked at these “solutions” we asked ourselves the following: “Is there a way that we can bring our classroom experience into an online environment?” In order to achieve this, we had to develop a whole new platform that incorporates the full range of “interactive experiences” that you would find in the classrooms to the web. This includes the ability to interact with your classmates, listen to their questions, network, watch the lecture and listed to the in-class discussions, use social media to interact with your peers, takes notes, etc. In fact, all of those experiences that you value and appreciate in the classroom.
3. Membership (DMI Connect) and Ongoing Education (DMI Extend)
One of the main challenges for the modern marketer is that the digital landscape is constantly changing. New products, applications, tools, methods, ideas, techniques and thinking are being developed on a near-daily basis. Digital marketers should know that they can have access to this new way of thinking from a single source and not have to constantly trawl the web for this information. Our membership programme provides for exactly this. We provide members with a series of ongoing, lifelong learning options, including networking events, Continuous Professional Development courses, videos and presentations by some of the leaders in digital thinking.
4. Licensing Options
The Digital Marketing Institute spends considerable time and into working with our various partners and Advisory Council. This ensures that the syllabuses for our various courses are exactly what is required in order for you to further develop your career. We get input from organizations such as Google, Facebook, Microsoft, universities and other educational institutions as well as some of the worlds leading advertising and marketing agencies. We then license these syllabuses with other educational establishments so that they can take advantage of this development, therefore enhancing and ensuring consistency in the digital marketing education space.

The Digital Marketing Institute Story - The Past
The Digital Marketing Institute was founded in 2008 by Anthony Quigley and Ian Dodson and has quickly established itself as a key support to the Digital Marketing sector.
Anthony was the CEO of Online-Marketing.ie a Digital Marketing agency he founded to service the growing online marketing needs of Irish companies. Ian was a full-time Managing Director of WebKitchen.ie a web design firm he founded in 2005. Ian and Anthony have over 35 years combined experience in marketing and running businesses and both have been working in the Digital Marketing sector since its inception.
With the rapid growth in the digital economy the two recognised early on the need for industry-focused, practical training courses to produce high calibre Digital Marketers to meet the economy’s needs. Out of a growing need in the market, the founders undeniable passion for education and their extensive experience in the industry, the The Digital Marketing Institute was born.
Coming from the Digital Marketing industry themselves, both founders felt strongly about creating training courses with direct links to the industry. ‘Theory is great, but what is really needed is a workforce of Digital Marketers who are armed with practical tools and a knowledge of what’s working in the industry right now’ says Ian. For this reason the Digital Marketing Institute employs lecturers who are at the top of their field, either running their own Digital Marketing businesses or working for the top Digital Agencies in the country. For this reason the company’s reputation for teaching quality is quickly spreading throughout Ireland, the UK, and beyond.
The Digital Marketing Institute Story - The Future
Working with the Google, Facebook, Irish Internet Association, Sureskills, Enterprise Ireland, Microsoft, LinkedIn and some of Ireland’s leading agencies, the Digital Marketing Institute ran the first ever Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing Ireland in January 2009. Since then, while others have copied (of course, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, so thank you!), over the past few years, over 2,000 professionals and organisations have taken our courses. FETAC have accredited our courses to the highest level possible and Enterprise Ireland endorse and recommend our courses. Our advisory council encourages and steers us to ensure that we continue to deliver digital marketing courses that appeal to industry (96% of people who have attended our courses are now employed).
