Motor companies have been very creative when it comes to mobile and social media marketing with Ford usually being ahead of the pack. The brand are due to unveil their new 2013 Ford Fusion Sedan at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit next month. However, instead of slowly revealing details about how the car will look and handle, they have developed a new app which lets users drive the new car.
When you first download the app, you must find a Ford logo to scan. Doing so lets you unlock a virtual world where you can drive three re-imagined versions of the car. Doing this allows you to discover more about the car through commentary from the designers and engineers as well as unlocking extra content including 19 different driving courses, video content, and ultimately, the 2013 Ford Fusion on the same day it’s revealed at the American Auto Show.
The clever part of this app is that it encourages users to check back every day to discover new content and features, meaning its audience will come back for more and will promote the car. It helps that the app looks great visually and whether or not it’s any good a game, it will certainly build a rapport for the product as well as increase awareness of the Ford brand and their products. The app can be downloaded for iPhone.
