Heineken’s BeerTender Gift Campaign Is Simply Ingenious



We know that every so often, we say that some campaigns are ‘brilliant’ or ‘genius’, but this one is just so inspired that it makes every other campaign pale in comparison.

Heineken have launched a brilliant new social campaign promoting their new “BeerTender” that lets you pour your own cold draft beer at home. The problem identified is that you don’t want to buy one yourself as it’s coming up to Christmas and doing so isn’t in the spirit of things. So what do you do? Heineken have thought up of the solution by creating a BeerFriender app on their Facebook page that will connect you with other people who want to buy a BeerTender in time for Christmas.

This way, you and a second person will buy a BeerTender each and giving it as a present to each other, all wrapped up and with a Christmas card to make it look like a authentic present from a friend nobody really knows. It means that you get the present you want without making it look like a selfish purchase so it’s win, win for both parties.

So start practising your “I can’t believe it!” and “Wow, what a surprise!” lines when you unwrap this on Christmas morning so that you don’t get caught. Alternatively, you could drop hints that you want it but what’s the guarantee that you’ll get a BeerTender through that? Simply ingenious!
