You may remember Ford launched a car exclusively on Facebook last year and now today we have a new first form Dominos in the UK who are launching a Pizza exclusively on Facebook. This week, fans of Domino’s page will be able to order a large Spanish Sizzler at a promotion price of £9.99 and try the pizza before it goes on general sale. It’s a great way of engaging the 130,000+ fans of the page and rewards people with an early look at something that they all already love…Dominos Pizza. The second innovative part of the campaign is that Dominos are running in game ads in popular online game championship manager and only doing so during La Liga (Ties in with Spanish pizza flavor) games. The ads which run on billboards around the pitches click straight through to the online ordering site.
How To Order
All you have to do to get the pizza (apart from living in the UK) is head over to the page and click through on the banner and your basket will be automatically populated with the new flavor. This is a great way to monetize your fan base and helps put a metric on social media which is something that a lot of brands are struggling with.

Shifting Focus Online
It’s interesting to see the big pizza companies shifting their focus online and that should ramp up with the emergence of social media. As James Millett, multimedia manager at Domino’s Pizza, said: “We’ve achieved fantastic growth in ecommerce in the past year, up 63% in 2010, and this new campaign utilises the latest opportunities in the digital arena and continues our focus on online innovation. Our new Facebook promotion has been designed to rewards our fans and create significant buzz around the Spanish Sizzler pizza launch, as well as driving further fan acquisition.
