Course Overview

Organisations of all sizes are coming to terms with the impact of the internet on their business. Our lecturers include the very best digital practitioners from across Ireland and the UK. The Digital Marketing Institute is the established leader in digital marketing executive education.

Participants will be awarded the Digital Marketing Institute’s own Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing as it is accredited by the Digital Marketing Institute. Participants also achieve a FETAC component certificate at level 5 in Digital Marketing (5N1364) which is validated by FETAC. The Digital Marketing Institute is a registered FETAC provider.

Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing also includes a full day Saturday workshop, which enables the students to practice what they've learnt during the course through group exercises based on real life requirements and budgets. The workshop is optional, is for students' benefit only and is not required for the certification.

Frequently Asked Questions

I am not very IT savvy. Is this course technical?: No, in the sense that it is not a programming course, and you will not have to learn any coding. Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing focusses on the commercial aspect of online marketing.
What is the difference between a Professional Diploma 5-Day Bootcamp and a 12-Week Part-Time course?: A 5-Day Bootcamp and a 12-Week part time Diploma courses have exactly the same content, the only difference is in the scheduling of classes. A Bootcamp starts at 9.30am on Monday and finishes at 5pm on Friday while a 12-Week part time course consists of 12 3-hour long evening lectures held once a week.
Does the Saturday Workshop cost extra?: No. Saturday Workshop is included in both classroom-based and online programmes. This is an optional full day practical workshop to allow hands-on experience with social media channels. The date attended doesn't affect your assignment due date.
What is the dress code?: While the majority of our students are working professionals, the dress code at our courses is casual.
Is there an exam?: No, there is no exam. Instead students need to complete an assignment.
Is the assignment compulsory?: Our Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing course requires that you complete a written assignment if you wish to receive a certification. To receive a Diploma in Digital Marketing accredited by the Digital Marketing Institute you are required to submit a digital marketing plan consisting of 2,500-3,000 words. In order to also achieve a FETAC component certificate at level 5 in Digital Marketing (5N1364) you will need to complete one more assignment - a Research Project comparing various marketing strategies (1,000 words).

Is this course accredited by any awarding bodies?: Participants will be awarded the Digital Marketing Institute’s own Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing as it is accredited by the Digital Marketing Institute. Participants also achieve a FETAC component certificate at level 5 in Digital Marketing (5N1364) which is validated by FETAC. The Digital Marketing Institute is a registered FETAC provider.
What is the credit value of this course?: Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing attracts 15 credits at level 5 on the National Framework of Qualifications and 24 credits at level 8 on the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework.
If I enrol for the professional diploma will I be able to transfer course credit(s) to the post graduate diploma in the future?: Credit points gained from the Professional Diploma are not transferable to the Postgraduate Diploma course. Credits can be transferred only between courses on the same level. The units are not credit rated (the ratings are only for the qualifications). Even if the units were credit rated they still would not be at an appropriate level for credit transfer, level 8 units could not be comparable to level 11.
However, having your Professional Diploma will put you in good standing should you wish to study at a postgraduate level in the future.
Do I pay VAT on top of the course fees?: No. VAT is zero rated for training purposes.
