Through his role as sales and marketing director of Idiro Technologies, Simon is deeply involved with the subjects of influence and contagion - how people's purchasing decisions affect the people around them. Since 2007, when he created a viral marketing training and consulting function within Idiro, Simon has been actively researching word-of-mouth and viral marketing and working with Idiro's customers across the world on viral marketing campaigns.

After some years in a wide variety of marketing roles at Cable & Wireless UK, Simon moved to Eircell (now Vodafone Ireland) in 1996 to set up the Products & Services team, and was instrumental in the development of the hugely successful ‘Ready to Go’ prepaid service. Simon’s time in Vodafone Ireland also included a spell with responsibility for technology strategy. In 2005, Simon left the world of the telecoms operator to join Idiro Technologies, a leader in the field of Social Network Analysis / word of mouth marketing.
